we are pleased to inform you that, as part of a project of continuous innovation and in line with current diagnostic and therapeutic programs, since 04/07/2018 the Osteopathy clinic has been active at our healthcare facility, under the responsibility of Dr. Vincenzo Pennisi.
This collaboration arises from the need to integrate orthodontic and gnathological techniques with manual osteopathic treatment, considering that the incorrect position of the jaw, by causing contraction of certain muscles, leads to postural alteration with consequent damage to the spine and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) itself. The international scientific literature has long been studying the correlation between dental malocclusions, cervical spine disorders, headaches, and facial pain. Usually, the patient is examined by the dentist-gnathologist specialist and the orthodontist, who are in fact the main figures in the diagnosis and treatment of these pathologies. Today, efforts are being made to create an effective professional synergy between medical professionals and osteopaths, physiotherapists, and speech therapists, in order to optimize care, always respecting the various professional fields and their respective competences. The Osteopath, in particular, by training, has a concept of the body as a whole, since every system is constantly related to the others; he collaborates with the orthodontic specialist for the resolution of occlusal and jaw positioning pathologies, and with the gnathology specialist for the treatment of joint dysfunctions.
In our clinic, the following conditions are also treated: cervical pain, low back pain, colitis, gastroesophageal reflux, premenstrual pain, muscle pain, widespread pain, postural disorders
The osteopathy clinic receives by appointment on Wednesdays.
